Free Places for three and four year olds and some two year olds
At Edale Stepping Stones we offer Free Places for children who are entitled to the government’s grant for childcare.
Childcare Choices is a useful government website which provides information and guidance about the universal and extended entitlement for free childcare. The government’s Tax Free Childcare helps working parents with the cost of childcare. Please see the link below to the Childcare Choices website.

Three and Four Year Olds

All three and four year-olds in England are entitled to a minimum of 570 hours per year of free nursery provision.
​
Families are entitled to 1140 hours per year (equivalent to 30 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year) where parents work for a minimum of 16 hours per week and where each parent is earning at least the equivalent of the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage.
A child becomes eligible funded childcare from 1 September, 1 January or 1 April following their third birthday.
Two Year Olds
Some children may also be entitled to funding for childcare for two year olds.
